I was thinking about buying a certain gecko for a project but was worried it might be considered muddy waters.... This is my example....

I want to breed a super giant 66% het Tremper to a Rainwater.... My goal in a few years is to have giant Rainwaters..... But would that be considered a "no-no"

I was also thinking about pairing the poss het with an actual Tremper to either prove or dissprove the gene.

looking for any and all feedback thanks

You would need to prove that the super giant isn't het Tremper. If you do not prove first, you're basically throwing money down the toilet. It'll take more than one season to prove unless the super giant is male. If male you can breed to multiple Tremper females speeding up the process.

Thanks for the reply,
I was planning on it being a male, and trying to prove it out.... But if for example he does prove to be het Tremper, would you advise me to not continue with my Rainwater project?..... Because his offspring would have something like a 33% chance of also being het Tremper?

It's just a headache to find a good blank giant.... Lol

If he proves to be het tremper, than I would definitely not breed him to a rainwater. That's not good practice.

Is there any reason you couldn't get a giant that isn't het tremper? I've seen them out there, and finding one would be well worth it for your project.

I'd definitely prefer one that's guaranteed not Tremper, but my hunt so far has come up with nothing... If you know of anyone selling some now I'd be really thankful!

But I am fairly picky too lol, I want BIG super giant male 110+grams
