Hey everyone, just stopped in to check these forums out as I very well may be the owner of a new Leo shortly. Are there any recommended websites that someone could mention if they don't mind pointing me in the right direction. :D Thanks

Ok thanks I'll check them out. What is a reasonable price to pay for a basic starter leo? I don't really want to spend to much as it is my first. I have a four year old beardie so I am fairly weathered in the reptile world.

Price depends on the morph, genetics, and size. I'd say average it's between $70-$150 for a basic but good looking geckos. You can find them cheaper, or more expensive. But my suggestion is to browse as many breeder sites as possible before you decide on one.

go to crestedgecko.com they have really cool geckos you can choose from. Leopards, gargoyles, crested and alot of others. I know the name doesn't sound like they have leopard geckos but they have a really big selection of hatchlings and adults. The babies are also reasonably priced.
hope this helps

I bought my first leo for I believe $15 or $20 from Petco. They were marked down that day from $30. Many people will tell you though that if you decide to get one from a chain pet store, you're taking a risk because they can often be compromised due to poor care and/or disease. I lucked out with mine, she looked healthy when I bought her back in February and has remained healthy.

Your best bet is a reptile show, where you will find reputable breeders (but there are also a few people that call themselves breeders selling very sickly-looking animals). I also recommend the site sponsors up above. I went to a reptile show and met some of these sponsors, like Ohio Gecko and Retribution Reptiles and their animals looked excellent.

Not sure if they're a sponsor or not, but CrestedGecko.com has awesome geckos; I just ordered one from them. It is being delivered next week. Hatchlings tend to be cheaper; I'm paying $75 for a diablo blanco morph. The shipping is pricey though; $50 for overnight. I think it's worth it because they come with a health guarantee. They are much less likely to be carrying a disease than chain pet store geckos.

Look for signs of good health wherever you choose to get your gecko. Scrawny geckos with scrawny pencil-like tails are a bad sign.

Anyways, have fun with your first leo :)
