Possible Parasites? Need Advice

I recently got a gecko from someone off of craigslist. She appeared underweight to me. Well I have had her a little less then a week now and she has barely eaten anything. She did shed yesterday and ate most of it. However, I suspect she may have parasites...I say this because her poop smells bad and it is usually light in color and runny. She regurgitates mealworms and seems very lethargic (she will close her eyes alot while standing still.) I have her on quarantine and I have not handled her in a few days because I thought the symptoms were due to the stress of a changing enviorment but I am not so sure anymore. I have been putting dabs of water and chicken baby food mixed with calcium and vitamins on her nose and she does lick it off so I know she is not starving.

So my question is does this sound like parasites to you or stress?

If you have dealt with parasites before do you have any advice?

I have been checking around for prices at the closest herp vets and if you guys think she needs to go I will take her asap.

Here is a picture of her:

WOW-she is a really pretty gecko!

The runny /smelly poop makes me think internal parasites

I would bring her into see a vet asap

Good Luck with her-she is a real cutie!

Thanks! I just hate to make her travel again so soon but maybe it wont stress her out too much. I am going to call tomorrow and see if it is possible to just bring in a fecal sample to be floated without bringing her.

What is the best way to get a fecal sample without contaminating it?

Tiffany, got the same problem at the moment, a lot of vets will accept the sample without you having to bring the gecko - just explain the problem (that the Gecko has recently moved and you don't want to stress her out any more than she has been already).

Can't help you on vets nearby to you though (live in the UK) and I am having to pay £70 (british pounds) to get him checked out for parasites - a lot more than I thought it would cost :(

Just a note, she doesn't look too bad, a bit skinny but not on her last legs by the looks of it but would take her to the vets as soon as you can :)

UPDATE!!!!

Okay guys. I took her to the vet today. She has two types of parasites. Worms and the flagella type. She was prescribed two different medicines. Panacur and Metronidazole. He said she looked pretty good despite having parasites. I really like this vet and I am glad I found him. The examination, fecal float, and both medicines came to a total of $78 dollars. She should be all better in about a month. I cant wait for her to be happy healthy and plump! :)
