We're not too sure but we're thinking Adinar may be gravid. She eats every day like we've starved her for weeks, goes through calcium like it's going out of style, and has some interesting shapes on her belly. I'm guessing ovulating or gravid. Couldn't get very good pics of her last night, but we'll try again tonight at feeding.

Not a well lit photo, but where the lighter areas on her sides is where the oval shapes are.

Better lit.

Just trying to figure out if we need to order or make an incubator. That and we need her to start packing on the weight since she's only coming in at about 44-45 grams. Looks like we might've gotten some extra surprises when we purchased her and the male... we just didn't know right away.

What do you guys think?

I agree.
She's gravid.
And not so much by the pictures (yeah, I STILL don't know what I'm really looking at, go figure...), but by the description of her appetite.
Don't know about anyone else's leos, but when mine are only ovulating, they do NOT get an increase in appetite, that's for sure.

if she's eating that much, she's gravid.
So keep feeding her as much as she'll eat.

I was figuring as much.

I have to say, I'm thrilled about it, but I'm also worried. I have never dealt with preggo geckos, eggs, incubation, hatchlings...

So anyone who can give me pointers, I'll love you forever. :D

I just wonder how long I have before she lays...and hopfully I get the incubator and stuff in time.

the research begins...:main_thumbsup:

It looks like you have about a week or so. Maybe more, maybe less.

Get some gladware: snack size ( 1-cup?) for the eggs, and 2-quart size for a lay box. I use cocofiber, so you'll wanna pickup and soak a brick of that. You'll want to squeeze out everything but the last drop or two of water when you put the substrate in the lay box.

And checkout the incubation forum, it's really helpful.

Also, she may go on a hunger strike right before and after laying. I usually wait about a day after laying and then give them as much food as they'll eat.
