Hello,

Im new to leopard geckos but have been breeding bearded dragons for quite sometime. I want to know what would a reasonable price for the following morphs would be.

Murphys patternless
mack snow patternless
super snow patternless
mack snow het hypo
normal het hypo
and hypo

Thank you in advanced I just want to know what a reasonable price is because I've seen such a wide range of prices and don't want to try to over price at a reptile expo. I have breed them yet but am trying to decide if it would be worth it with the current collection that I have.

Price varies a lot because of quality, so hard to really say. I've seen normal for like 15 at a show, not sure about a murphys, macks snow 30 to 50, super snows always seem in some demand so maybe 60 or more. Things to remember a table will coast you around 80 and you will need a tax ID number. And if you aren't raising food for these guys like myself by the time there big enough to sell you have some money in them. But I recently sold a few normal afghan crosses at a show and got 25 to 30 for them there were pretty wild looking though.

All of the morphs you mention range from $20-$500+. To me, price is not determined by the recessive and dominant genes an animal carries. Value and amount stem from a variety of factors such as your ability to back up your babies with detailed information about where you got the parents, if they were proven or if a reliable breeder sold them to you as het for albino or not het for anything, the quality of the gecko as compared to others of a similar morph/strain, and the overall health of the animal and the knowledge and reputation of the breeder.

Thank you all for your input I know that a lot of these factors come into play when you are pricing the geckos. I do already have a tax id as me and my mother have been breeding bearded dragons for a while and i'm expanding into ball pythons and leopard geckos. This does bring me to one last question though. With alot of reptiles I have read that you only want to breed them to a certain age because after that alot of the clutch becomes infertile and it stresses the female to much and can cause harm. Im in this hobby for the love of reptiles not just for the money so all of there health is the most important factor. With leopard geckos in your opinion what is a good cut off age. I have read many articles that suggest around 5 to 7 years does this sound accurate?
