This isnt a leo egg but i hope i can get some help. I have 7 pictus gecko eggs in the incubator right now and the first one i got that is due any day now has dented on the bottom. This has just happened over the last day or so. Is this egg pretty much done or can it still hatch. If cradled i can see the pattern of the little guy but i dont see any movement. I also would like to know what casuses this cuz i do have 6 other eggs in there and dont want this to happen to them. here are some pics.

The picture of the bottom of the egg looks like a dent but it kind of looks like a crack in the egg too. I can't really tell that picture is a lil blurry. What medium are you incubating in? I have had that happen when the medium has dried out a little too much. Keep in mind Pictus Eggs are REALLY fragile. So.. Moving them at all.. can break them. At least that is what I have had happen.

i keep them on a milk cap the is placed on top of a peat moss/coco fiber mix. The mix gets misted every few days. Ive only held the egg twice in the 50 some days ive had it and htat was to cradle it. I know what u mean about it looking like its cracked but when i looked at it a little closer it looks more like a like crease from the dent.

OK, That makes sense about the crease from the dent. If this way of incubating works for you please keep on doing it that way.

I incuabte my eggs in dampened Vermiculite and cover the egg 1/2-3/4 of the way. If I was to see that egg in one of my incubator boxes... I would guess that the box dried out and I need to add water. I would also submerge the egg almost completely so it could get as much moisture as possible.

So... I think the egg just dried out.

Im new to gecko eggs and know nothing about this type of gecko. I just got my first leo eggs 2 weeks ago today. I do breed ball pythons and corn snakes. Im not sure how long this type of gecko eggs need to be incubating. With the corns and balls about 2 weeks before there hatch date they start to dent in and soften up. Maybe its close to hatching. With the ball python eggs ive had a few hatch at like 48 days. I think normal is like 60 to 65 days for the balls. Id say leave it and see what happens. If it is cracked i have used liquid bandaid to patch eggs before. For me id say about 50% of the time it has worked and saved the egg.
