Problem with Mouth

Ok on one of my lizards i seen like a bunch of sand like all clumped up around her mouth as i grabbed it to see if it would fall off, she pulled away and it ripped off, mouth seems fine but i noticed that it was kinda stuck on there. ill try to get pics if this happens again but it seems sand is clumping up around her mouth, i got it off but wondering whats the cause of it and shes not really eating anymore.

Do not use sand, paper towels are best. I have no idea about your question.

If sand was clumping around her mouth then chances are she ingested some. This can lead to imaction, which in turn can make the gecko sick or even kill it. IF she is impacted then she won't eat because first she will feel full and second she can't pass the sand and is blocked up. You can let the gecko soak in warm water (not too deep) and gentley rub from the sternum to the vent, never the opposite way. You could also try some mineral oil, it may help her pass the sand.

P.S. If the gecko just shed, it could have been sand sticking to the shedding skin.
