Throughout my years of breeding I never really had a problem with any of my geckos defecating in the egg laying box....
until now.
Im using peat moss as a substrate and its a pretty ugly site seeing crap turn into a fuzzy cloud of mold. Anyone got any tips/advice to prevent this???

All my other geckos always handle there business in a specific area of the enclosure.

Also, Ive been thinking about converting the substrate to vermiculite,
Anyone ever have a problem with a gecko getting impacted from ingesting vermiculite??

What is the most succesful type of substrate in your opinion for this chamber?

Thanks

I have two females that do that after they lay their first clutch, and the rest of the clutches of the season. It's strange it's almost like they stay in there longer than most others after laying. They seem to be there still trying to protect their eggs a little longer. What I do with those two females is while collection the eggs, give them fresh laybox substrate. Most of the time this works.

Ive done that,
only for her to contaminate it almost immediately,
I dunno what to do,
I think it would be bad when she starts laying because she could contaminate her own eggs.
