Hi All,

I was wondering if anyone has used this product with their leopard geckos? I've got one gecko who every shed has toe issues. I end up soaking her every night and use the q-tips until I get it off. My hope is that this product could help with these stubborn spots.

Any feedback would be appreciated.

Cheers,

Chris

I do, on the warm side. (Just a tupperware with a hole in the lid) It's moist and has paper towels.

What did you determine was the best way to apply the product?

depends on where the skin is. The one I have is a spray so I usually just spray a few times until the skin is moistened. Then gently rub the shed until it comes off. I have also dipped a cue tip in the solution and applied it that way.

Gotta say I love it too, I swear by it!! best thing about it is that it's adequately priced too, very affordable. One of my geckos, funnily enough a CB2007 RAPTOR from HISS, loves me spraying him down to the bone...only to catch him licking his lips. The vet says that it won't harm him, which is good as he does love a good shed-aid bathe :)

Thanks to everyone who answered. I have one quick question. When you say you spray your geckos down, is this something that can affect their eyes? (I guess I should go to the website and check it out)

I only lightly spray the head because you don't want to overwhelm their senses, a lot of geckos don't like being sprayed too heavily either. In terms of affecting their eyes in a negative sense, I have never experienced this and been assured by multiple impartial veterinary professionals that this shouldn't happen.

In using this, I've found it does help with the stuck shed on her toes. However, I've also found it to be a few days process. I'll spray down her feet, wet a qtip with the repti shed as well and try to work the skin off (using tweezers when possible) Then, after she decides she is done for the day, I spray her down again and then place her back in her home.

I think the trick with it is to spray down and then massage in, after about 10 minutes it comes off like the gecko has been soaking in the bath! Well done for the perseverance though. In time you'll have a routine for removing shed...just don't expect the geckos to always agree with you :)

Thanks for your help with this product. I do have a question with moist hides. Each of the girls has one in her tank that is partially over the UTH, but partially off the UTH as well. For the girl with the shedding issue, I've noticed she does not use her moist hide at all. Is there anyway for me to coerce her into the hide?

Im interested in using this stuff, can i just moisten his coco fiber with it when he sheds or do i have to apply directly?

Also how long does a bottle generally last? because it is kind of expensive.
