Prolapse? Scab came off? No idea!

Grendel visited the vet a month ago for cuts/sores on his testicles, he was given antibiotics and betadine and it seemed to be clearing up, but the scabs didn't go away. I just checked him earlier and whatever it was be it a scab or his actual testicle was coming out more. I called work real quick to tell them I'd have to take him in first thing to get him looked at, the whole time he was sitting on my shoulder as calm as can be. I got off the phone and pulled him off to find whatever it was had fallen off. I can't find it on the floor, it's just gone. I have no idea what to do. There's no blood, just a gaping hole.

He won't sit still for a photo, he won't even let me look since he keeps moving.

HELP.

Finally managed to get a pic, best I could do with holding the critter keeper in one hand and trying to steady the camera with the other.

Vet didn't think it was prolapse when we took him in, but whatever it was came out where the original cuts were.

It looks like a scab fell off. I'd put some neosporin non pain type on it and he should be fine until you get to the vets office. Good luck!

The other side is starting to do the same now too. I put him in a critter keeper in his tank (so he'd have heat) with damp papertowel on the bottom just in case if it is his bits falling off. (horrible I know, but it's late. lol.)

Now it's just the waiting game until the vet opens.

I tought something looked a little weird when he shed a few days ago.

I guess we'll have to wait and see.

Other side has now fallen off. So now he has 2 gaping holes rather than just the one.

You ever get him into a vet to see what the prognosis is?

Yeah, he went yesterday morning.

Vet said the things that looked like scabs were actually just a waxy puss build up about the size of peas. The other one came out too about an hour after that photo, so took it along for him to check out.

Unfortunetally he still had the open holes, but he's getting betadine twice a day and is on antibiotics for another 2 weeks. (Apparently the first round of antibiotics didn't help keep infection away.)

But I'm sure he's glad those plugs are out, cause those things were huge!
