Prolapse was actually leftover shed skin? What?

I took my leo to the vet to get what I thought was a prolapse checked out. The doctor actually concluded that it was leftover dead shed skin. He just plucked it right out and my gecko is doing great. Strange thing is, my gecko had not shed within a week of that "prolapse" forming. I mean...happy ending...but..what? What the heck just happened? The night before, I had bathed my leo in sugar water. in the morining..POOF almost all gone. Here is some pictures from before the morning when things got better:

strange. if it pull right out perhaps it was a sperm plug. but thats defo not shed skin :S
