I feed my geckos mealworms, crickets, and occasional roaches. I usually feed my adults a few worms and six gut-loaded crickets twice a week, but they still show hunger whenever i am near. How much can i feed them safely? Thanks!

I'd feed them more than twice a week if they'll eat. I tend to offer food 3 or 4 times a week and feed as much as they'll eat it 10 minutes. Some days they don't want to eat, but I still offer. Adults don't tend to have an overeating problem; they'll stop taking food when they've had enough. Also make sure you're dusting with calcium and vitamins. For adults, I try to dust with calcium every other feeding and vitamins once every other week.

I have a very large adult male and a juvenile male. My juvenile male gets fed daily, but my adult male only gets fed twice a week. Honestly, he won't eat if I try to feed him more than that. And even when it is feeding day, he only eats about 10 mealworms, maybe 12 on a good day. And he is a large boy, 11 inches and 125 grams.

I don't feed mine all they want as some will eat themselves to death. I feel it's unhealthy for them to be seriously overweight so when they start looking too chunky to me, I weight them and only feed once a week. If they lose weight I feed them a bit more, if they maintain their weight I keep feeding like I am, if they gain weight I cut the portion I'm giving them in half. It's not so precise but I don't think there is a one size fits all answer to how much is appropriate or safe.

Mine is not even a matured adult yet but rarely eats (like 1 feeder bug per day&night frequency). But healthy in terms of body mass and weight. As much as i'd want him to eat, he won't.

Just keep in mind that their belly is as big as the space between their eyes so go about that serving size daily, weekly, bi-weekly or monthly :)

My adult has an odd appetite. One week, she'll eat maybe once, but weeks like this, she'll eat six to eight roaches a night. I swear, she's been ravenous lately. And she's a pretty solid girl.
