Ok, I'm really not happy with the look of reptileguides.com :main_no:

Its a little dark and its a bit untidy, in my opinion its a bit hard to understand whats going on and I want to rework the layout so that its a bit more user friendly. Can anyone point out what aspects of the site they like, or what parts they think don't work so I can start to get a picture of how to improve things?

Any input appreciated... :D

Any aspects in particular you don't like?

I feel its brighter and more clean looking. Its easier to get around as well I think. I wanted to add resources alongside care sheets and the existing structure didn't lend itself well to that.

Plus as the list of sheets got longer it was going to be harder to find what you were looking for.

Any specific likes/dislikes?

The orange is a little bright...But I think the main thing is the quality isn't near as good. It does navigate better though!

Why inches

Why are you using inches?:main_huh:

With an International Site you should use both inches and metric.

The Orange is bright but, okay ... I guess. For us on the other side of the Pond would probably use Blue or some other color.

I will look later at it so that I can offer some friendly advice.

Then, as a Scot you can take what you like.

Talk to you later.:main_thumbsup:

I am amazed you got that done in paint. I like it, but I am not sure if I like it as much as before.

Paint shop pro and Paint are 2 different programs, paint shop pro is more like photoshop than paint.

The site looks a lot like a template, also looks more on the lines of a tech site or computer site more than a caresheet site. JMO

I think so yeah. I'll work on tightening it up a bit.

The reason the last one looked more professional is that the last one was a template and this one was not. I couldn't find a template exactly how I wanted it and wanted to have a go at it myself. This is the first one I've built graphically from scratch. I usually use coloured tables or a template of some sort.

I guess it will evolve.

MM or FT/IN

Your funny Sturt.

In the United State of America, we use Inches and Feet. We also teach the Metric System. The Metric System is suppose to be our standard system of measurement but we do not "think" in that system.

While we may teach it and while we may even put both systems on our consumer products the folks here still use the old system.

But, for those folks across the Pond they use the metric system.

I have visited several websites and some of them are from the UK and the measurements are always in the metric system.

So ... that is why I made my suggestion.

So take a break and sing the song...

"Hark, when the night is falling hear, hear the pipes a calling. Loudly and proudly down through the glen. There where the hills ..."

I couldn't help myself.:D

Now, while I love the Star Bangled Banner, I also Love "God Bless America" as sung by Kate Smith.

:D

Sorry, I wasn't implying AMERICANS didn't know ft and in's lol just for anyone who doesn't.

I'm SUPPOSED to work in mm, but I did a lot of woodwork with my Grandad when I was very young so I learned to measure in the "old style". I never quite worked my way out of it....
