Proving not het's

I was wondering what everyone does when trying to prove out a het or non het. How many females do you guys use 1,2,3. Is one enough if she was to have a good laying season. I know the more the better but.... Your experiences would be helpful.

I have no experiences is this but I think as you said more is better but how much is okay to produce just to prove out.
And in the end I think you can´t realy prove it out. In worst case you never get albinos from het albino*het albino pairing^^
I think 1 female is okay to prove out but you will never know 100% if one is non het or het (well okay if you hatch the homozygot form than you know^^)

But maybe we have few ppl here that have experiences with this *G*

Thanks for the response. I wasn't as clear as I should have been. I want to prove out an eclipse to be non het for albino. What would be the best to try and do this. I was thinking about using either a Raptor or an albino het raptor.

Would this be correct:

W/ a raptor female
1. If he is het for albino I have the possibility of producing?
Raptors, albino het raptors, normals het, albinos possible hets. I might be
missing some others. But this is the Idea?

2. If He is non het albino?
I would produce normals het eclipse, albino

Albino Het raptor

Would be similar outcomesbut with more possibilities of possible hets?

This scenario is new to me and can be confusing...So any help would be greatly appriecated.

Well a raptor to an eclipse pos het "tremper" will give 100% eclipse and if you hatch an albino your eclipse is indeed a het "tremper". If you don't hatch any albinos in say 10 animals, I feel it's fairly safe to say ... your eclipse may not be het tremper:main_laugh:

Personally, I think I would hatch atleast 20 from him to prove to myself that the odds are good that it's an eclipse with no tremper gene.

You could use a tremper female or 2 also and hope that no albinos pop out of those eggs.
