Ptychozoon ssp.?

Out of curiosity...
Does anyone on here keep Ptychozoon/Flying geckos, and have information/tips on keeping them?
I understand most of them (if not all) are wild-caught, and that you can keep three in a 20g tall but that's all I've seen.
I'm looking at these as a prospective 'next step' into geckos/herpetology. I have the patience to get a setup up and running for a few weeks (or longer) to figure out how to maintain humidity/temp and other bitties, but I don't want to have to guesstimate on their care and have them live unhappy lives.

I kept three of them for a short time about 2 weeks all wc all died. That aside I would not put 3 into a 20 gal These geckos are bigger than crested and imo need more space

I babysat one for a few months. They are very skittish and not good for handling. I'm not sure that three in that small a tank would be a good idea. They need a lot of room to be able to run and glide. They also do not like to be seen much at all.

first, i kept one of those guys for years. super healthy, the only reason it died was my friend was gecko sitting and his cat got to it.

flying geckos are awesome, but dont ever expect to see them fly or glide, they need a lof of air to fly, were talkin a two story drop.

but they are super acrobatic, and youll see em do some sweet arial jumps.

they are really active, so a 20 might be a tight fit for 3. my guy would be on the go all night long, every night.

definately not a gecko for handling. they hate it, and its nearly impossible to catch them if they get away from you as their tendancy is to go straight up, and they are a lot more agile on the cieling than you are.

but, all that said, they look super cool, like little dragons, and i always day dream about getting another one. definately one of my favorite species.

i hear the main problem with imports is mites, but thats not to hard to take care of if you have a vet who knows what he is doing.

The one I watched use to hop from my hand to my shoulder and his favorite spot was between people's shoulder blades. Awful cute.

So it's been established a 20g is too small ;)
I have several other sizes available to me (all the way up to a 55gal tall) so getting a bigger tank isn't a problem at all.
Now the problem will be finding them ;)

Nice im excited for you I wish I still had some you will be able to see them after you have had them in their tank for a while and get use to it. Are you thinking of turning that 55 vert? I would be worried about to much humidity getting out with a screen? but nonetheless let us know how it goes! GL

I was going to leave it upright and build a custom hood for it. I've got a friend who's dandy with glasswork so I can get him to cut out some ventilation closer to the bottom (Unless I'm mistaken, water vapor has a tendency to rise?)
It's just a matter of getting everything set up and letting it run for a while to see how it works out.

Getting the animals themselves is another problem entirely - I do have the patience to sit there for a day and de-mite them with vinegar or mineral oil but I don't have the resources to quarantine them all separately.

I don't know much about water vapor but yeah I would assume it raises, but why would you want vents at the bottom? I guess one to move fresh air in would be nice. They need high humidity so I wouldnt wont to much air going in there(although they do need some) I would care for them the same as tokays - a few degrees F FWIW
