I need some help with this I am trying to learn this


I have a Male Mack snow and a female Bell Albino. If I were to put this in the square what would it look like and what would be the outcomes. I want to know what letters I ue and where to put them in the square. Thank you for the help!!

I don't know how accepted these gene symbols are, but they do not violate the rules I was taught in my univ genetics course.

Ms = Mack snow, a codominant mutant gene
+ = normal (at the Mack snow locus)

ab = albino (bell), a recessive mutant gene
+ = normal (at the bell albino locus)

// = a pair of chromosomes

Ms//+ = a pair of chromosomes with a Mack snow mutant gene in one chromosome and a normal gene in the same location in the second chromosome.

A locus is the location in the genome where a given gene pair is found.

The Mack snow male has a Mack snow mutant gene paired with a normal gene in a pair of chromosomes. The male also has a pair of normal genes at the bell albino locus in another pair of chromosomes. Or Ms//+ +//+

The bell albino female has a pair of bell albino mutant genes and a pair of normal genes at the Mack snow locus. Or +//+ ab//ab

Each sperm or egg gets one gene from each gene pair.

All of the female's eggs get a normal gene at the Mack snow locus. And all the female's eggs get a bell albino mutant gene at the bell albino locus. So all the eggs are + ab.

Half of the male's sperm get a Mack snow gene, and the other half of the sperm get a normal gene at the Mack snow locus. And all of the sperm get a normal gene at the bell albino locus. So half the sperm are Ms + and half the sperm are + +.

Result:
1/2 Ms//+ +//ab = Mack snow (heterozygous bell albino)
