im just curious to know of the problems that i could have if introduce my other female to my two other females in the same tank. the two have been together since i bought them and they have always been fine, i got the third from a different store around the same time and they are all within two weeks of the same age and are all about the same size. what problems might i see, or should i look for and has anyone ever experienced such problems or has it been successful for anyone?

Before you ever introduce a new gecko to a group of geckos living together, it is absolutely mandatory to quarantine the new gecko for a few months to prevent any possible diseases being spread to your other geckos.

I'd suggest slow introductions, and watch for aggressive behavior.

Try putting the tanks side by side if you can, watch how they react.

Look for that "hunters focus" when they suddenly aim their head at prey and pause. Watch for tail movement, if it raises it's tail and then slithers it like a snake, the gecko is showing aggression/fear. (friend or foe? bite the tail and not my head.)

If that works, introduce them to each other for a while, don't leave them together over night right away. Watch everything they do and how they react. Make sure there's enough space, heating surface and hides for everyone.

Not 100% sure, but they may try establishing a pecking order and minor aggression/dominance might be displayed till everyone knows their place.

Hope that helps, anyone with more experience feel free to step in and correct me or add to what I've said.

well i put the tanks next to eachother for about five minutes today, my one female wagged her tail a bit then stopped. the other paid no attention and the female thats alone just tried climbing the tank sides as if she wanted out and into the other tank. good first impression i hope.

when/if you decide to do make the move, id suggest completely rearranging everything, getting 3 sets of everything so each has their own space if needed/wanted, and just do the process slow. try first introducing them all in a neutral area like on your bed or a giant bin and see how they react and go from there.

I second the neutral area introductions. Bed would be a great place. If they start to fight, try to put your hand in-between them slowly but firmly to separate them, then try again later.

When I added a second female to my tank. The breeder said to take everything out of the tank, clean, and rearrange it. That way they think that everything is different. I did that and it worked for me. No problems from day one.
