In a month or so, I'll get some new geckos (hooray!!); but I still can't decide if I want an APTOR or RAPTOR. As you might have noticed from my avatar and some of the pics that I posted, I take ALOT of pics under dim red light. Can someone please describe to me how the red eyes look under red light? Here is a pic of normal eyes under red light; will red eyes also turn out crisp and clear under red light?

I might sound stupid with this one, but do they have dilated pupils too under dim light? It would be great if someone can show me a pic. Thanks.

Geckos cannot see red light; that's why people use the red bulbs for night viewing. Their eyes dialate just like ours do, and when they're dialated, their eyes tend to look red. It sounds like your gecko has normal eyes, but they appear red under the red (dim) light.

I take it that your current gecko is not albino. So under the red light the eye is fully dilated and is completely black. With an albino or a gecko with eclipsed eyes their eyes will probably be a little lighter in the picture compared to the one you have now. I don't think I have any pics of my albino under a red light but I'll take a look.
