Q > Substrate / bedding / flooring maintenance

Good day. My first post (or second if the one on the 'introduction section' is counter). Anyway, I just had my LG last week. I'm housing him in a plastic, clear box. I found these plastic boxes much easier to maintain since no worries of breaking it when tilting (during clean up) or accidental bumps. I also love the top cover with two locking devices. Keeps away "unwanted visitors" and I'm using a newspaper as a bedding / substrate / flooring.

Now to my question, how often do I need to change the bedding? Do I need to change it everytime I spot a poop? Or the poop can sit for a while until the next "clean up"?

Right now I always change it since I'm afraid that my LG will get ill... Thanks. :)

Usually a leo will pick a corner to poop in. What I do is put a folded paper towel in that corner. After two-three poops I pick up the paper towel and toss it out and replace it. If your gecko doesnt poop in a corner, then I would just spot clean it every day and change the actual bedding every week, so no bacteria grows.
