Well, in theory everyting can be a genetic giant if the correct crosses are made, but I don't think that someone would sell you a giant without knowing that it is. Even if he is big, that doesn't mean he is a genetic giant. There are many chunky geckos out there.

alot of males, if kept at the right temps and given alot of food, will cross the 90 gram mark. Genetic giants hatch out bigger and grow faster. When you breed him see if any of the babies are larger than normal.

I bought an Hybino female and she weighs 90grams and the guy did not sell her as a giant, i know males get big but how can a female be 90grams and not be a giant? I think she is, WHAT DO YOU GUYS THINK?

Thanks, Bret

If you have any regular females post a pic with them side by side. That is if they have already been through the quarantine stage.

I have just weighed my female after some time of not-weighing because my scale broke and today I bought a new one. Well, I surprised when I saw she is 93 grams! I'm quite sure that she isn't a giant. Is that too fat for a female? :main_huh:

My vet told me that in his experience females that are too fat do not produce as many eggs as females that are of smaller size. I think 60-70grams is plenty large for egg laying. I would assume that 80+ grams is becoming obese unless it is a giant or super giant.
