I wasn't sure where to post this. I want to start breeding dubia roaches to feed to my geckos. I plan on using a plastic rubbermaid or similar bin, so my question is what's the best way to heat them? I read that they need to be kept at 85-95 degrees.

I use a UTH, but I just got my dubias and I don't even know if they're breeding yet. The guy I bought them from uses a heat mat from the hardware store; same concept.

Yep, they have pretty long lifespans, so I just leave them in the garage year round, and they breed during summer. People use che's and uth's, they don't like light.

Just for those who don't already know:
CHE = ceramic heat emitter
UTH = under tank heater

How many females do you guys have? I only have like 7 of them left, and i'm just going to feed it to my uncle's beardie as it's not hot enough for them to breed anymore.

I got some today, I only got 5 because the lady doesn't usually sell them but at least if I mess up and kill them all it wasn't a huge waste. I just have them in a 10 gallon with a UTH. It was a leftover tank when I moved my geckos into a rack and I decided to just use it since it already has a heater and I wouldn't have to buy another one. I covered the front with paper so they have more privacy because my puppy was going over there and constantly bothering them.

Nice, just leave them in a dark corner with heat, a 10 gal is very big for just 5 of them. The good thing about my roaches is that it seems like the babies just pop out of nowhere, I ordered 100 babies and some adults, and now have around 100 still, after feeding them off all the time.
