Why 25& 25? I don't get that.. There fact that it's male or female doesn't change anything, right?

I am also tossing around this idea. I have a male snow and was thinking about getting a female giant/super giant snow or super snow. Was curious what this would produce. Or what pairing of giant/super giant morph could make something really cool.

Genes are inherited in pairs, half of the pair from mom and the other from dad. They also come in a variety of forms., dominant, recessive, codominant, incomplete dominant. When a leo inherits a dominant gene from one parent and the recessive gene from the other, the offspring will display the dominant trait. For example, the white and yellow trait is determined by a dominant gene. if you breed a wy gecko with genes Ww, and a non-wy with genes ww, the babies has a 50/50 chance of getting either W or w from the wy parent and can only receive a w from the other. The babies that receive gene W will have, genes Ww, which produces the wy trait. Conversely, the babies that get gene w from the wy parent, will have ww and will not have the trait.
Now, to answer your question, the giant gene is codominant, meaning that the gene for giant G, is not "stronger" than the normal gene N. Instead, both genes are equal in strength(the classic morph is not dominant); hence both genes express themselves in the offspring when paired together. So if one parent is giant it will carry genes GN, the normal parent will carry genes NN. when you breed these 2 parents, each baby has a 50/50 chance of getting either gene G or gene N from the giant parent and can only get N from the normal parent. If the baby gets gene G from the giant it will have gene GN and will be giant. On the other hand, if the baby gets gene N from the giant parent it will have NN and be normal size. If you breed a supergiant GG to a normal NN, then every baby will get a giant gene G from the supergiant parent and a normal gene N from the normal parent.; each will have genes GN and all will be giant. You can also think of it this way, giant is medium size, normal is small , and supergiant is large. For codominate genes both traits show up in the heterozygous (hybrid),GN. So gene G codes for giant, gene N codes for normal size, together they code for a medium size gecko that we call giant.

The sex doesn't not have any effect in this case. It's 50/50, not 25/25. Like flipping a coin, you can get a few giants in a row, or a few normals in a row. If you want all giant babies, buy a supergiant.

According to someone who tried it for long, giant breeding didn't give expected results at all, to be short it was supposed to be 50% giant and finally NO GIANT at all. Which makes me wonder.. Those who tried breeding giant + other, what do you say?

I thought giant was co Dom...which means breeding it to a normal sized gecko would make each offspring have a 50% chance to be giant and 50% chance to be normal. If you were unlucky you could get all normals. It's the same probability of humans having girls and boys. Some women have 6+ girls in a row. Case in point: my Great Aunt has 16 grand daughters and 3 grandsons....lol
