My boyfriend is going to be building me my first rack this month and I just had a question on heating. I was planning on using 3" or 11" flexwatt. My question is..At 90 degrees, do I run the risk of a fire hazard? Is there anything I can put down between the wood and the tape to act as an insulator? Thanks

some people use melimine wood because it doesnt catch fire. I use regular plywood though for my racks, a hint for placing the flexwatt in the rack, dont bother buying the foil tape because its never stuck on any wood that ive used, i get a nice wood stapler and staple the flexwatt down. If you do this make sure only to staple threw the clear part of the flexwatt, if you staple threw the black it could potentially start a fire. I like to use a helix thermistat, after all since u just saved a load of money building the rack on your own, why not at least put a nice temp controler on it? I use a helix on my racks and have never had any trouble with anything catching fire or even getting to hot
