Question About Hides

I know you need a hide on the warm side, and a hide on the cool side, plus a humid hide which can be on either side. My question is if you could combine and have a cool, moist hide on one side & a dry, warm hide on the other, so just 2 hides. Would that work? Sorry for the extreme n00b question.
Thanks!

I personally like putting the humid hide in the middle to make it more humid, so not so warm as to evaporate to soon, but also not to chilly either. But so long as the moist hide is separate from the cool and it stays moist, I see nothing wrong with combining the two, so long as you've got the three varieties.

Well, if theres like a wall or something seperating them it should work, like this
--> m theres a wall in the middle separating the two hides but its still one.

Thanks for the replies everyone. I'll just stick with the 3 separate hides to keep it simple, but thanks for the idea ez2animate.
