This is my Sandile I bought him from a reptile expo about a year ago. I noticed he has a small head and not very long spikes or eyelashes is that normal? I thought as he would grow they would grow with him but he barely has any. But especially compared to my other crestie Spike his head looks extra small or is Spikes just really big?

I know very little about cresteds, but from my own research (as I am figuring out whether I want to purchase one in the future or not), I believe I remember reading that sometimes they often have physiological differences, such as head size, based on some morphs, and some have more defined spikes than others. I would say that with any gecko of any species, if its behavior is normal and it seems healthy, then it's okay if it has a physical difference of some kind. Obviously if it's something extremely abnormal you need to be conscientious of it, but I don't think anyone should worry as long as their gecko can function :)

BTWs, I'm glad you didn't name him Krokorok, that'd be silly ;)

Head size and structure is something that differs in the individual gecko. If his parents had poor head structure, typically their offspring will as well. Many breeders based projects simply on head structure and crest size. There is also a debate as to whether or not longer or shorter incubation periods have any effect on crest size. It is thought that the longer the eggs incubate (the lower the temp), the nicer the structure on the gecko will be. Genetics and incubation temps are definitely a variable for crest structure IMO
