Question about my leopard

I have had mine for a well over a year, maybe less. She's been doing well, but I have a question. My kitten broke her light , which means she hasn't had a day light in a few months. I 've been using a 3.0 uv bulb for the time being until I can get a replacement. Lately I have been seeing her sit in her feeding dish and kinda just "lounge" around. She eats her worms fine and gets feed every 2-3 days. About 7-10 worms each feeding.

She's in a 10 gallon tank with a water dish to soak, 3 hiding places, one including a "moist" hide.... that gets clean every week. The tank during the day is around 80-85* without a real light on him, and at night around 75*.

What is going on or am I being too worried? Do you need a updated picture of her to give more information? Thanks!

She sounds fine health wise if she is eating and defecating. She may be "lounge"ing around because the temperatures need a slight bumping. You probably already know this but you should have a specific hot spot of 90-95 degrees. An undertank heater being the best thing you can provide for her, it's easier than an overhead light. They need the belly heat to digest their food, that should be a slight concern.

If you provide belly heat with a proper heat gradient I'm sure she will perk up and just overall look better.

:main_thumbsup: Just needs a good UTH to keep her going!

Yarp, switch uth and get rid of the uv light. Chuck it, kapoof gone, temps up to 90 hot side, and you will see her being active more, also try feeding on the two days not wait out till the third unless shes a chunky gal.

if you cant get a uth the try a high wattage bulb aswell i personally use a 100 watt bulb in my tanks and they work fine i know pet stores charge a ridiculous amount of money for them so i just use a regular house light bulb and my temps are fine

I got a 75W bulb that is now keeping the temps around 80*, I was told that 100* is too hot for her, and it should be around 85*-90* is this true? Also, I got the UTH heater today will probably be installing tonight - Is it best to have the UTH on at night, to keep temps semi warm, with her night light? Thanks for the help, and sorry for delay in replies. I was out of town for about a month and a half.

Your leo does not need a night light! Ditto to what everyone else has been saying stick with the under tank heater.the lighting that u are using will stress your gecko out,get rid of it.Put the uth only on 1/3 of your tank.It needs to be 95 degrees on the warm end and appx 75ish on cool end.Keep the uth on all the time. They will choose how warm or cool they need to be and thermoregulate.I keep my leos at 95 degrees on the warm end.Do yourself a favor and dont listen to pet store employees. There are people on here who have valuable experience at leo husbundry.

I didn't listen to pet store employees, I know this from owning Frogs for 5 years (about pet store employees and they're way of taking care of animals). I've always had a 50-75W bulb on my leopard previously for the past year, and she was never stressed.. so I don't think that's an issue. I got most of my information from another website that mainly deals with frogs, but some of the members have leopard geckos as well.

At the moment the warm side is around 85* and cool side is around 75*. I'll test it with the UTH tonight, the reason why it's not on now is because I have to move stuff around.

You'll find they'll eat better if temps are around 95 degrees

she sounds like she's doing fine though .if u tweak the temp you'll be set to go.Go to home depot and get an infrared light they are cheap. You can use that at night to view them and the leos dont notice the light like thay do with the regular light bulbs.
