Question about reptile carpets

Hello,
Well, I'm looking to replace Rin's reptile carpet with a different one. I postiviely loathe her current one. She snags her claws on it and occasionally gets her teeth stuck in it when she makes a grab for prey which, in my opinion, makes it little better then sand. Its a zilla reptile carpet (Or an eco carpet they both look familiar so now I can't decide <---fail) but regardless, does anyone own/know of a better brand of reptile carpet that doesn't have the long little strands of carpet sticking up everywhere? And I bought it new so these strands have nothing to do with age, its just poor quality in my opinion.

Well, thank you everyone for any advice :)

Ahhh, see, I had been considering them but I was worried about the possibility of them heating up too much. Is this a possible concern? And do you have any suggestions as to where I could find some tiles? Would some from a local hardware store be acceptable? Or do I need special, pet friendly, ones?

Thanks a bundle!

Wonderful. I'll see if I can pop down there during an intermission in the hockey game XD
Should I be looking for a particular size or type?

Right so, I bought some tile from Home Depot so we'll see how she likes it ;) Nice stuff though. Although (being inexperienced in this area) we just HAD to buy the toughest tile to cut ever (porcelain) and, thinking it would be an easy job, just decided to cut one of the pieces to size...after hours of trying we finally gave up and called one last friend to see if he had a tile cutter....turns out we need some diamond something-or-other saw thats been "water cooled" in other words, its a big process so we had a bit of a lugh over that.

Some on the forum have said Home Depot will sometimes cut tile for a customer. You might try giving them a call tomorrow and inquire. I don't use any tile in tanks so can't help you with different types but there's a lot of threads on the forum about it. There's a search function on one of the tool bars above.

I guess I got lucky and have a 30 x 12 x 12 tank (20 gallon). So I just bought two 12 x 12 slate tiles for each tank, and got 6 x 12 piece of repti carpet with their cool hide sitting on top of it (fits perfectly). Testing this with 1 of my leopard geckos and he seems to like the setup.

I've heard some homedepots will cut them for you, so you'll want to ask around.

Yah, we thought $50 was a bit ridiculous for one tile, luckily we found a friend who had one of those special saw thingys so now her tank looks positively gorgeous :D Thanks everyone for the advice.
