Question about tangerine hatchlings

In your opinion, do the best tangerines hatch out dark or a little lighter? I know that it can take awhile for their color to show. This is my first season with tangerines, so I was just curious as to what others thought. I've noticed some hatchlings here that are quite a bit lighter than mine were when they hatched. Is there any way to tell if the hatchling will be really nice early on? I hope I explained that right and it made sense.

Thanks!

I agree that it depends on the parents. I have done two different Tangerine pairings and the offspring are very different. Albino Emerine x Tangerine Tornado offspring came out lighter and look very nice. My other Tangerine pairing was Tangelo Enigma het RAPTOR x RAPTOR. The offspring from them have less color, but are carrying the Eclipse gene. In my case the best looking ones are the lighter ones. In fairness, the darker ones are very new and they have began to color up nicely also. Different people have different preferences.

The tangs that I am hatching are light and dark, Ive got one who really isnt that nice looking but all of a sudden under all that dark there is this amazing carrot head. There does not seem to be any rhyme or reason to it. But like the op said I think the lighter ones end up being you super hypos, but do quote me on that lol.
