So My gecko I have right now is about 4 months old. She is 8 inches long from head to tail and weighs 41 grams. Is that rather large for a 4 month old gecko? I wasn't expecting her to grow that bit so soon. I have a Blizzard who is about 3 and a half and only 6 inches long and a bit chubby at 39 grams. (Gonna be cutting back on feeding her more.)) what is about the normal growth rate. I know Geckos stop growing around 12-18 months. So does this mean Saphria my 8inch long gecko will be getting much bigger than my other one?

Gecko growth rate depends on temperature and calories. If you overfeed you can rush their growth and they will hit adult size around 5-7 months. Your gecko may not necessarily get huge but it may be maturing faster if you are feeding a lot. I feed mine every other day until they are 15g and then 3x a week until they hit around 30-40g when I cut them to two feedings a week. I don't like to rush their growth as I believe growing at a slower rate is better for their long term health. Most hit the 40-50g size around 7-10 months and continue to grow until they max out around 60-70g around 18-24 months. I do have a few that are rather large, however, but as long as their tail is relatively chunky and they're still growing steadily I still feed them at the same rate as my smaller geckos. I just don't like mine to get super obese as its bad for their health and breeding.
