Okay so my little girl Nips is pregnant and for the past week or so i don't think she's eaten more then 1 maybe 2 meal worms, My bf said i have to watch because when she stops eating it means shes going to lay soon. I'm just worried since she's so tiny i want to make sure her eggs are going to be okay as well as her. Am i just over worrying or is something wrong?

Sometimes they do stop eating, but I watch for digging in their damp hide as the sign for laying. The first clutch is often preceeded by a day or more of excavation! But as they get egg-heavy, they do seem to just want to be left alone, and dont eat as much.

Okay i know she keeps laying in the corner by where the "house" and the wall is which is the tiny-est area but the one place with shade. And she's alot more active just doesn't want to really be held or eat much. My Bf says he's seen her digging but i haven't.

Heres what i recommend. Use Pearlite or Vermiculite ( I recommend Perlite, Ive heard better results but Vermiuclute is good too just watch the Humidity ). Second you dont want your whole enclousere to be full of sand when she lays. If she digs too deep you will never find the egg.

Um Leolover...when it was "mating time" Nikolia wouldn't get off of her literally. He'd try going a week straight lol But i woke up this morning and logged on here and went to turn on the heat lights and the sand was flying. She's digging!! I'm so excited. And Darkmaster i'm not to worried about the sand in her tank it may look like alot but its just on very thin layer this way meal worms couldn't try running and hiding. Those sneaky little bastards. =]

Put it in the incubator anyway, and keep it from rotating (markmwith a sharpie or pencil). It might still be okay. And she will lay more! Often the first eggs are not fertile anyway.

Dont be sad... it will work out!
