Has anyone noticed that they're females are more friendly than their males? I can't really pick up any of my males, but all my females are fine with being held. One of my males lunges and tries to bite me, the other 2 get away as fast as possible.

I only have two, but I do notice Ramses has quite an attitude with me. haha He growls at me, never bites. He's just grumpy I guess!
And my female Sagira is timid but doesn't make a peep. There is probably some truth to that logic!

Try not to pick him up from above you look more like you want to eat him. With my male tokay I pick him up from the tail end. What I do is slide my hand under his tail past his hind legs to his belly and then pick him up with out squeezing is. Should make it feel more relaxed and not afraid of you.

I don't have any males, but I think it depends on the individual. My females are usually docile, but my oldest one will jump off my hand once out of the tank, since she likes to run around herself.

When he was in my rack, every time I pulled out his bin he'd try to jump out. I put him in a 10 gallon tank since it's taller than the bins. Yesterday when I was trying to clean out the poop he tried to bite me. I wasn't even trying to touch him or anything. I'll have to try putting my hand under him instead of going from the top. My females don't seem to care how I pick them up and Jethro is starting to not mind as much. He still runs at first but is fine once I have him in my hand
