So I've had my dragon for about a month now and I've kept him on grounded walnut and sand. I've noticed he hasnt been pooping on his own for a few days now so I've been helping him along by giving him warm baths and such and he usually passes his poop out afterwords.
It's somewhat runny and what not...
He's been somewhat lethargic and i've noticed he has stress spots constantly...
What I want to know is if I can remedy this any further than just having to give him a bath every day.
I've looked into vegetable oil and olive oil and giving him baby food but I want to know if that will help clean his intestines for good or not.
Nobody around here will hospitalize reptiles so I've got to do this on my own.
Also, I plan on putting him on repti carpet this coming friday to help prevent this.
Any help?

Runny poop is usually a great indicator that something like parasites are the culprit. Not always, but certainly a good chunk of the time. I would take a fresh poop sample to the vet for a fecal, they usually run between $18-22 for an exotic fecal. Vets are allowed to run a fecal without seeing the animal as a patient first, so don't let them trick you into paying for a visit before they identify if there's anything to treat.

A good trick for getting things running, if there is some irritation in his GI tract, is to feed him something like grape slices. They're nearly all water, so that will help lubricate things along. Beardies love fruit, so try stuff like grapes and strawberries and see if that perks him up. I'm wary about oil, a drop or two is ok but too much and it will induce vomiting.

And this may just be my own preference but I think beardies are too messy for repticarpet. They poop too often and make a lot of mess, so you'd be swapping out the repticarpet on a nearly daily basis. Perhaps something like tile or even shelf liner would be more cost effective and easy to clean.

Okay, Ill check it out when he poops next. Will any vet take samples or only specific ones? We dont have a vet that specializes in exotics here.
Do you think hell be able to pass anything within the next couple days?
I tried the oil today and didnt get anything so I plan on buying grapes and some baby food to help him along.
I really hope I can pull him through this...
