Questions about the digging container

Hi. What substrate do you use for the digging container? could i use the sand that contains calcium that they sell at some pet shops??

NOOO! That stuff will kill leopard geckos.

We like using coconut fiber. Our lay box is also the humid/cool hide. We find it works well for their multi-purpose hide. Also if a gecko happens to go potty in there, it is easy to scoop out the clump.

lol I wonder what would happen if you put paper towels. She'd freak out trying to dig!

I have paper towels in mine. and yes,.. she goes nuts trying to dig. pretty funny to watch too lol.

The sand will not kill her. But it is not ideal for egg laying. I use the Zilla Beaked moss, some times labeled as Terrarium moss. My Girls love it and it doubles as the humidity chamber.
