I have a few questions as im just starting out and need the advice to get going.

1. What type of substance do you use in your moist hides?Im using moss but it seems to keep drying out faster then I can keep them all wet.

2. How ofen do you change your moist hides out. Mine have been in for about two days and starting to see mold in a few. Is that normal? and how do I delay that.

3. Where do you keep your moist hides in what position? mine are right in the middle to the left, between on top of the heat tape and off.

4. How many mealies do you feed your leos? Im feeding them 5 a day to start with but am thinking they should get more?

5. What temp do yo u keep your heat tape at? Mine is at 95 degrees. Is that about right?

6.How long does it take you to go through and clean cages, and change water out a day. i think im going to clean cages everyother day. Is that often enough? And I change water everyday.

i think that is it for now!:D Any advice would be great. And if im doing something differently and you think you have a better way plaese let me know.

1. We use paper towels for males, juvies, and none laying female. Laying females get vermiculite for laying media.
2. Changing is done with the presence of feces or mold. Mold rarely happens in either paper towels or vermiculite in my setups.
3. I try to keep my moist hide at 85 so its about 6 inches from the back in the 15 quarts, and near the back in the 6 quarts. The larger display cages(which wont be used once another adult rack is built) I move and use the temp gun until I am happy with the temps.
4. I feed adults every other day 8 to 12 large mealies, Babies and juvies get fed everyday anywhere between 3 and 6 medium to large mealies depending on size. I also supplement feedings with dubia roaches and crickets, but mealies is the mainstay.
5. The back bottoms of my containers stay right around 90 to 92 degrees.
6. Water is changed every couple of days, but if evaporated fresh is added as needed. It takes me and my wife about 2 hours for all of them, and up to 4 during breeding season. Changing water everyday is okay.

1. use vermiculite
2. every time you clean it which should be once a week
3. Good spot
4. 4-5 a day for young leos 3-4 inches. 4-6 every other day for adults 4+.
5. 91-93
6. change water every day. Clean your tank 1 or twice a week.

1. Coco fiber, aka Bed-a-beast for laying females, paper towels for non-laying females and males.

2. We change the coco fiber about once every 2-3 months. Paper towels get changed anywhere from 1-3 times per week.

3. We keep several hides in the cage, and the moist ones are in the middle, on the cold side, and on the warm side, in different cages. The spot doesn't really seem to matter too much.

4. We generally feed 5 per day, or more if they will eat more. But we only feed mealies to the babies that are too small to eat super worms. We feed super worms to all of the geckos that are big enough.

5. We keep ours at 94. The higher temps seem to do better with them :)

6. We spot clean daily, change water, and moist the hides. This takes about an hour to do them all. We do monthly cleanings of the bins and cages (using a bleech soluteion).

For my breeding cage, it's sand at the bottom, and a egg box with moss in it. Not much, but when she does lay, she hopefull lays in the box, and not on the sand. And if she does, I hope I catch it soon.

Well yea they eat about 5 a day, Im trying to decide weather I should be feeding them more or not. That seems to be about the norm for the bigger breeders I have noticed.
