If you have a rack system where you need a lot of heat cable but the heat cable isn't long enough, do you just plug the heat cables into each other to make a long heat cable rope that is plugged in at one end? Thanks :)

All the heat cables we had did not have plugs at both ends. You would probably want to contact the manufacturer of the cable to ask them how many you can piggyback if yours is that way. Also, if you purchased the rack from a company they may have seperate heat cables the correct length for their racks. Of course that isn't an option if it is a DIY rack.

I've been using heat cable in my hatchling ball python rack. Honestly, they are pretty long. I had no trouble heating my entire rack. The bad news is, half my cable shorted out today. I've only had it for a week. I'll try one more time to see if this was a fluke before I order a bunch of heat tape. The cable has one male end that you plug in to your thermometer. I just taped my probe to the cable itself.
