quick ? on UTH mounting

Do you put the heater on the same direction as the tank or do you put it cross ways? Also how much space do you leave between the heater and the end of the tank?

Put it in a way that covers about half of the tank. Most of the time that means perpendicular to the orientation of the tank. I put about 1.4 inch space my self but a little more should be fine as long as its half of the tank.
