Quirky question?

This is a dumb question, but it needs to be asked.

Sappho looks like an Elektra. I didn't notice until just now. I've been calling her Sappho for about a month now, and honestly I don't think she cares either way, but should I change it? Is it bad to change it? It's not like she answers to her name, she only comes out when she sees I have waxworms. Her tank setup is ancient Greek because of her name but Elektra is an ancient Greek name too, I think the name of one of the Pleiades.

And Elektra has sympathetic value to me. It's a name that means a lot. Since running out and buying another gecko is out of the question, should I change it? Like, is it okay to?

To be honest, I don't see a problem in changing her name Geckos aren't like dogs or cats, they don't come when called so I don't think it would matter at all. Besidies, I like the name Elektra. Although, if you keep it the same Sappho is a cute name.

Agreed... I changed one of mine from Mossimo to Spike because he reminded me of a bulldog as he got older and it fit him better. I think the names are more for MY pleasure and differentiation than anything else!

We changed several of ours. I give all of my hatchlings cutsie little names and if we decide on holding one back, my husband has to give it a "better" ( according to him) name.

Yeah, it's a weird question, but you guys helped a lot. I just didn't want to be the one lame person who's changing my gecko's name, but if other people are doing it then it should be fine. I love Sappho a lot, but Shadow and Elektra are two names that mean a lot to me (they're sort of a superduo that my friend and I created), and since I want to get a male leo some time I'd like very much to name him Shadow. Thanks a lot, guys!

Elektra was one of your former geckos? My dad's current dog, I swear, is his one he lost to cancer. I can't call the dog by his proper name. Even if I try. Do I believe in reincarnation? I have no clue. Sometimes the weird is a little too strange to let it be. Go Elektra!
