I started building my small leo rack this weekend. It will be 3 tubs wide and 2 levels (only 6 tubs). I really dont want to use heat tape so I was wondering how zoomed repti heat cable works? Is it safe on plastic tubs? And how many leads do you need on each tub?

And which thermostat will be best that wont kill my wallet.
Thankyou so much

I use electric supply commercial heat cable (no internal thermostat) the model you'll need is easyheat HB03. I use it for both my racks and this is the heat cable animal plastics used to use for their racks. Only down side is that it can be a little spendy. I paid $50ish for 9ft of it and that's just the cable you'll need the plug at the end too. I'm not zure about the zoo med stuff but I heard you have to double layer it to get desired temps

I have tried the zoomed heat cable and it didn't work for me. I tried doubling it up, snaking it. and everything and it wouldn't get the tubs over 85 degrees.
