OK so i have someone that makes plastic racks and cages, and i'm tryign to think of a configuration to use, i'm thinking 6qts for hatchlings and 12qt for adults, all sterilites, which put the 12's about 2x as wide as the 6's so if i do an even # of rows on 6's i can house that half that many 12's across, but i wanna make sure it'll be enough for what i've got and i wont have to upgrade till later , my 2 fem's are in my custom cage, and onlythign i've got now is the 3 juvies, 4 eggs in inc, and i know i'll atleast need to get 1 male at the show, so i'm debating should i go 10 6qts per laying female ie.. 20 of them to be safe and sure, and then just fill up the rest with adult ones i can fill later or what? would like a few opinions on a layout, i'd love hatchling leo's on top, adults going across the middle and bins underneath for some corns when i get them but that part can be a seperate rack hehe.

For 33" wide and 42.75" tall you can do 5 rows of 4 6qt on top, and 4 rows of 2 12qt on bottom (I assume 12qt for the corn snakes)- this way you'll have 20 of the 6 qt and 8 of the 12 qt tub.

ok bringing this thread back, as my collection has gotten a little out of control and eggs are going to start hatching soon, with the 2 laying females now, 1 female that may be soon if she's ready this year if not i'll have to wait till next (would be nice to get my snow enig's aout of the way this year though HEHE...) anyway i just layed them out and 4 16's takes up the same length of shelves as 4x 12's, and i can fit 6 x 6qt's on there as well, so that's a 4ft shelf length wize, my question now is with 2 breeding females now, and only 7 eggs so far but i'm sur emore to come, and esp. if the other female is going to breed this year, how many 6's would you guys say woudl be safe to hold hatchlings, i know i can do 1-2 in each or 2-3 in each of the 12's if need be while raising...

i figure on having all 3 sizes, 16's for the adults, 12's for the juvs or groups of juvs ready to be sold out, and 6's and 12's for hatchlings or groups of hatchlings.

i was thinking since 6 across 3 shelves but do you think that'd be too few only 18 6 qt tubs? i dont wanna run out of space to put babies hehe esp if they dont sell off and i have to upgrade them to 12's or 16's

and would you put 6's on top or on bottom

[ 6 ] [ 6 ] [ 6 ] [ 6 ] [ 6 ] [ 6 ]
[ 6 ] [ 6 ] [ 6 ] [ 6 ] [ 6 ] [ 6 ]
[ 6 ] [ 6 ] [ 6 ] [ 6 ] [ 6 ] [ 6 ]
[ 6 ] [ 6 ] [ 6 ] [ 6 ] [ 6 ] [ 6 ]
[ 12 ] [ 12 ] [ 12 ] [ 12 ]
[ 12 ] [ 12 ] [ 12 ] [ 12 ]
[ 12 ] [ 12 ] [ 12 ] [ 12 ]
[ 16 ] [ 16 ] [ 16 ] [ 16 ]
[ 16 ] [ 16 ] [ 16 ] [ 16 ]

feel free to copy/paste these in any way shape or form that you would do with as many shelves/ container type or configuration., when i typed it it kept it spaces in between the larger tubs to make it all look square but the post doesn't like it sorry :D but you get the idea 12's and 16's will be wider than 6's etc...
