Ok i need ideas on what you've made racks out of (no melamine)sorry!

i would say you can make a rack out of any type of wood....if not melamine you'll likely need to seal it to protect against water. also theres expanded pvc or foamed pvc...which can go by many names, usually sintra or komatex(not positive on the spelling of these but i think their right)

I like lace or other soft fabrics....

I was doing some reading last night and I'm now a little hesitant on going with expanded or foam pvc. Apparently it likes to off gas a bit when heat is applied.

You can use wood, as mentioned. AND if you smooth it well you can use contact paper to color the rack.

Hey Eric,

You could also go to craiglist and look in the free section. There is alot of dressers, bookcases and shelves you can convert into a rack.
