monkey i see plenty of the geckos when im cleaning and feeding LOL.

as far as builing the racks their is probably an easier style of rack to build than they way i did. there is particle board and some other type of material ( i cant remember the name ) that can be used to build an AP style rack if you have some general carpentry skills

when i built those racks the room was set up different so i made the shelves 18 inches deep by 6 feet in length a sheet of 3/4 inch pine plywood is 8 feet by 4 feet if you have the room just go ahead and make the shelves 8 feet long (less cutting) the depth of the shelves will be determined bt the tubs you will use.
the legs of the shelves are pvc tubing i drilled 1 1/4 inch holes in the center and each corner. the 1 1/4 pvc and couplers give each shel its height.
i have peg board on the back of the rack to adhear the flexwatt and add some stability. thats pretty much it
oh yeah cost? each sheet of plywood about $25 and pvc $5 per 10 foot tube flexwatt ?? thermostat ??

I used melomine to build my racks. i wanted something a bit more sturdy and water resistant. I left a 4 inch gap at the back to wire the heat tape, and the back is also peg board. its 6 ft tall, and 24" wide, and 18" deep. can hold 1 32 qt tub, or 2 15/16 qt tubs per shelf.

nice! i like the dog too! i want to build a rack but wanted a light weight material that was as strong as wood. i know commercial rack mackers use PVC-u (one says it uses pvc foam board but i cant beleive that as that cuts with hand tools so couldnt be sturdy enough surly). Only problem is i cant find any pvc-u in the uk! kinda get my rack done though as i have 1 hatchling due on last day of april, i can house it not on teh rack but things will be alot easier if i have it done by then :/

Sweet Guys. OK I'm siked about tonight i went to home depot last night a got all the melamine. Its light weight and looks nice. The total about spent on March 28 , 2007 was $120.34 nice right. And they cut every thing but the shelves. I made it 8 shelves high. With 2 16qts side by side for single. Or 1 32qts for Breeding. So if i do my math right its a total of 8 16qts and 3 32qts. I got all my tubs at target and they had ever thing ready for me. I paid on March 28 , 2007 at target $1.99 for 16qts on Sale. (Reg price is $2.99). And for 3 32qts was $5.99 Im not sure if they were on sale or not. So for all Tubs was 39.68 i think. I will have to look i know no more the 40.00 for sure..lol or i wouldn't of paid for them. So a total spent was $180.00 (Remember there is no heat yet). I'm ordeing my heat tape tonight also far for 20ft at $2.10 and 8 clip sets is $71.17 shipped and thats from BeanFarm.com. I'm building the rack tonight so i will have be for and after picks up around about PM est. With how i did it and all. Thanks Guys for your in put made it hell of alot easier on me. It Made My Day :) :)
