rack question?

I am looking into building a rack and gonna use 12 quart tubs i want to use the 50 watt heat cable that i already have my question is how many rows of heat cable to put under each tub? is 1 good or do i need to loop it back and put more than 1 row of the cable?

It really depends on the temperature of the room the rack will be in. On my first rack, I ran it under the tubs twice. I run that rack at just over half power and it keeps the rack at 90 in a room that is 78. On my second rack, I ran only once under the tubs and have to run it at full power to keep 90 in the warm spot.

The problem with the only once, is the tub doesn't have as much of a hot spot, if that makes sense. With the running under twice, It creates a bigger hot spot and seems to heat the humid hide better.

My hatchling rack only have one row, BUT I would say to need to rows for an adult rack.
