I am not looking for a breeder set up. I don't want tubs with dozens of lizards I want to be able to watch the guys climb around, eat, and just enjoy them. Not trying to say anything bad about breeders just not what I'm wanting

My thought is build a plywood box 24" long 16" deep and 12" high that would give more floor space then a 20g long tank. I could then put a glass front door 20"x12" so I could still see the little guys. If I wanted I could build 4-5 of these and stack them on top of each other making a rock system.

Or would it be better to do 30" long, 12" deep and 12" high just like a 20g long tank? I guess that might give a better hot to cool gradient.

For the glass door I'm thinking about recycling some old 10 gallon fish tanks. If I remove the plastic tops and cut the silicone I would have sheets of glass that would work for doors. Just need to get a hinge that would hold them.

Anyone recycled the fish tanks for this sort of thing? I have a few 10 gallon tanks just sitting round doing nothing.

What would you use for a hearing source of you have a wood bottom?

I thought about that after I posted the topic.

I think I will take the floor of the new tank and cut a 10"x12" hole the silicone the ends of the fish tank 10"x12" into the floor. I could then use a UTH right on the glass with no risk of fire on the wood.

I will then put ceramic tile bottom of the tanks.

Drawing it out I think I will have to go higher then 12" so maybe 16" as I will be accessing thru the front not the top. It will make it easier to get stuff in and out and give a lip for the glass door to rest
