Finally got this done. Thought about doing a whole tutorial about building a cheap easy rack for anyone who might be interested but I decided against it. Nothing like housing almost 100 geckos for just a couple hundred dollars, heat and all...:main_thumbsup:. Being a contrctor has its perks. Waiting on a few ovulations for this year then its going to be nuts compared to last year. Lots of fun stuff coming..:D

Very nice! But only for couple hundred?! Wow...I've been trying to see how much it would be to get a small hatchling rack for myself, but even building it will cost about $150 or so, heating/thermostat included.

What materials did you use?

$50 in MDF (Wood), about $80 for 100 tubs ( I got a good deal on that), and about $120 in 3" heat tape (discount for buying in bulk). So about $250 in total. If you wanted to ad a decent rheostat its about $275.

I know the prices for most things are crazy in CA. Thankfully Im in OH..lol

I bought a homemade one from a local reptile show that's painted with black latex, 10 shelves high - fits 28qt sterilite containers for $175. Was worth it to me to not have to drill and cut inside my little apartment...haha. I'm in OH too so definitely cheaper than it would be in CA...haha

Yup...must be CA prices for me then. Cousin was complaining about gas rising to $3.30 per gallon in her area, and my reaction was "REALLY? You're going to complain about $3.30 whereas ours is $4.19?" Everything's more expensive in California lol.

Ours is $3.75 a gallon in OH at the moment so you can feel a bit less robbed at the pump...haha

Also - to the OP - those racks look AWESOME! Good luck with your babies!!

Ive been using rheostats for the last couple years. It does the job just fine and theyre $10 instead of $150 for a decent thermostat. I do have a nice high dollar thermostat for the incubator I made though ( also pictured).

And to Lisa, it does help the have a big garage and plenty of tools..lol
