Your not gonna get those in the first year of breeding, but in the second.

The Outcome would be:

25% Normal HET Bell Albino, Eclipse

25% Normal HET Bell Albino, Blizzard, Eclipse

25% Mack Snow HET Bell Albino, Eclipse

25% Mack Snow HET Bell Albino, Blizzard, Eclipse

And If you bred the Mack Snow Het Bell, Eclipse to the sibling Normal Het Bell, Het Eclipse here's the outcome: (There's no way of telling if the parents are really a het, so there's a 50% chance of all the babies being het)

1/64 Normal

2/64 Normal HET Eclipse

1/64 Eclipse

2/64 Normal HET Bell Albino

4/64 Normal HET Bell Albino, Eclipse

2/64 Eclipse HET Bell Albino

1/64 Bell Albino

2/64 Bell Albino HET Eclipse

1/64 Bell Albino Eclipse

2/64 Mack Snow

4/64 Mack Snow HET Eclipse

2/64 Mack Snow Eclipse

4/64 Mack Snow HET Bell Albino

8/64 Mack Snow HET Bell Albino, Eclipse

4/64 Mack Snow Eclipse HET Bell Albino

2/64 Mack Snow Bell Albino

4/64 Mack Snow Bell Albino HET Eclipse

2/64 Mack Snow Bell Albino Eclipse

1/64 Mack Super Snow

2/64 Mack Super Snow HET Eclipse

1/64 Mack Super Snow Eclipse

2/64 Mack Super Snow HET Bell Albino

4/64 Mack Super Snow HET Bell Albino, Eclipse

2/64 Mack Super Snow Eclipse HET Bell Albino

1/64 Mack Super Snow Bell Albino

2/64 Mack Super Snow Bell Albino HET Eclipse

1/64 Mack Super Snow Bell Albino Eclipse

By the time you're able to create a RADAR, they will be fairly common, so therefore the price will drop. If you haven't proven your Eclipse to NOT carry the Tremper gene, then your Radars will be in many people's eyes worthless any way.

Anthony did answer the question. I will restate what he said: By the time you create RADARs they will be pretty inexpensive, and if you haven't proven your eclipse to NOT be het for Tremper, then you will have a hard time giving them away.

If you are asking if you could call a bell eclipse you hatch in the future a RADAR, the answer is yes.
The prices of RADARS varies from breeder to breeder... prices starts at $1750.

In Europe there are few breeders who don't care if the eclipse is het tremper or not... they just breed it to bell albinos;) some even breed raptors to bells... :main_huh:

We have those in America too. Luckily once you gain a bit of experience in the hobby, it's easy to tell who is knowledgable and ethical, and those are the people you buy from.

I've seen Radars for as low as $800, but like I said Nir, by the time you're able to make even one, which will be AT LEAST 2 years, probably closer to 3, the price will have dropped significantly. You will probably have a tough time selling them, even if priced well below the going market value, because by the time you get your first Radar, there will be thousands of Radars out there with spectacular colors from the generations of line breeding that came after the morph was established. Not to mention, since you've avoided commenting on whether it's het Tremper or not, I'm assuming you don't know, and that can create big problems for you down the road.

If you really want to persue a Radar project, the best way for you to do it with limited genetic knowledge would be to buy animals that already came from a Radar project. Basically, pick up on someone else's work.

You should read through the forum's many discussions about why mixing albino strains is a bad idea. If you want to do it well, take the time to prove if your Eclipse is not het Tremper. If she is het Tremper, you should work on producing a non-het Tremper Eclipse before crossing into the Bell line. Rushing into breeding sub-par animals will only hurt you in the long run.

I agree 100% with Anthony, and I posted the percentages to show you it will probably be about 3 years before you get one, So nobody can predict the cost. If you don't mind, where do you live?

If there are so few geckos over there, then you have plenty of time to do things the long and rewarding way instead of the cheap and easy way. Obviously you're going to make your own decision, I hope you've atleast taken something from this thread though.

My opinion is since everyone is saying the prices will drop then get a bell that is snow or enigma or sunglow, or something like that. so that you can make a good amount of money off what you produce

What noone has mentioned in this at all is don't look at the gecko as a dollar amount. It is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it. I bet by the end of 2010 the price for a visual Male Radar will float around the area of about 1k if that. I have seen many double hets and single hets out on the market which means that this year will be quite a few visuals produced this year.

I think that in 2011 and 2012 you will be seeing alot more line breeding on the radars for either the reverse stripes or the true patternless (possibly bolds as well).
