what would come from breeding a RAPTOR to a red stripe, perticularly a female from JMG. as much as i hate to admit it, thiers are beautiful. so say i got an increadably nice female from them and breed to a male raptor. this would give me red stripes het RAPTOR. im wandering if adding a beautiful red stripe to the line would increase the beauty of the second generation? or would it not have any effect on the RAPTORs once they come out???

thanks
nevin

Let me be the first to say that JMG has AMAZING animals, so don't be ashame to scream it out yourself :)

I have never seen a redstriped raptor, but that should be the the end result of said project. A raptor with red racing stripes down the side :main_thumbsup:

wait wait wait. i must be a moron. i thought a key aspect of the RAPTOR was the red stripe, the patterneless red stripe to be exact. but a red stripe none the less.

Nevin, I would say you can get some nicer colors. The ones you have bought from me are from the same type of project. We bred a Giant Aptor to a Red Stripe, then bred those babies back to the Aptor, and to some Raptors.

They are getting better, and better, but if we would have had a really nice Red Stripe to begin with, they would be even more colorful. I bred only one pair of the resulting 100% hets, this last year, and they have made some really smoking Trempers.

You can make Ruby Eyed Red Stripe Albinos, Patternless Red Stripe Albinos, and pretty much everything else. I have been happy with the project so far.

This is a pic of a Red Stripe APTOR aka Patternless Red Stripe Albino. The only difference between that and an Aptor is the striping, which is the influence from the Red Stripe line. We are working on getting more striping of course!

Actually "Patternless Stripe" is what makes an Aptor. The Ruby Eyed trait is what makes a "Raptor".

Patternless Red Stripe is what comes from mixing in Red Stripes.

And here I though RAPTOR stands for Ruby eyed (red eyed) Albino Patternless Tremper ORange.

raptor stands for Ruby eyed, Albino, Patternless, Tremper, ORange. but i always thought the last R was what stood for red stripe. wow, that was just my fault for remembering wrong (it happens to the best of us). so thanks guys. that all makes sence to me now.
