I just put some $$$ down on some red stripes, and Im also waiting for some red stripe albinos and het albinos as-well from HQ. My first question is how do you make red-eyed red striped albinos? do you breed RAPTOR X ARS and then breed the offspring back to each other? Id like to see what comes out of that breeding:main_cool3:
Oh and one more question, has anyone dun this breeding, and what did you get out of it, Carrothead Carrottail Tangerine Jungle Giant Albino X red stripe Albino? Thanks Bill L

See my projects page (and the pages that link from that page) to see more about our Red Eye Red Stripe project. www.groovygeckos.com

I have been working on the project since early 2005, so Im hatching out the second generation allready. A few very nice Patternless, and Reverse Stripe 'Poss het RAPTOR' males/females are coming to the available page pretty soon.

Sounds like thats all you need to do, Im sure the babies would be nice. Well I have bred my APTOR "het RAPTOR" to a Red Stripe het Albino, and hatched out some really nice Patternless Red Stripe Albinos. The RS was from the "Patternless Stripe" project, which proves out to be the same as the APTOR. They can even produce "Eclipse".

See this thread http://geckoforums.net/showthread.php?t=118 for some more genetic info on the Eclipse mutation. Keep in mind a "RAPTOR" is a albino-Eclipse, they only have the red eyes because they are albino. I dont mean to say you do not understand that, it just that RTs terminology:main_rolleyes: is confusing alot of people. To the point Ive allready seen a "double het raptor/ eclipse" for sale :: bangs head on desk ::

So if I want a albino red striped to have red eyes like a RAPTOR I would have to breed in the Eclipse mutation?

Yes, but the Eclipse is probably linked to "patternless". Last year we bred Red Stripe to a Reverse Stripe Albino, and hatched many patternless geckos. Alberto from A&M Gecko, had the same results as far as the "patternless stripes" that were created.

They either started out without much pattern, or it became less and less as they grew. These geckos are not producing "Patternless", Eclipse` and Albino-Eclipse` when bred to R/APTORs. So it has now been proven the "Patternless Stripes" are the same as "APTOR"s, and they can even produce RAPTORs.

So are you saying that by breeding RAPTOR X Red Striped, they could produce some APTOR's & RAPTOR's, and patternless, or do I need to be working with more then just the two morphs to make this work

Per Dan's finding...You could produce Tremper Patternless from that crossing in the first generation. To add Eclipse, you would need to breed the offspring back to the parent that is expressing Eclipse, or amongst the siblings (if in fact Eclipse is simple recessive).
