I think my female is ovulating (she’s 62 grams 8 months), but my male is 41 grams should I wait a little longer until I pair them up until he’s up to size or is he okay.

I'd wait another month until your female is 9 months old. I'd also quarantine them in seperate tanks for 30-60 days if you've owned them for a shorted time than that. Good luck!

Would hurt to wait a months and pack some weight on that male in the process. Though I don't thing age is as important for male many stop eating while breeding and 40 is a little light 50 would be better. Some believe that breeding a male to young may stunt his growth but I don't think so.
