I'm taking a few of my tanks from long to tall. This involves creating a new "door" out of the former lid. I'm tossing around ideas, stalking the hardware aisles...has anyone created something that works without a degree from MIT? These are cresty tanks, fyi.

well i just thought of this, i think it would work but it'd be really "ghetto" (can i say that?? im sorry)

anyway if you buy a peice of clear plexi or whatever you wanted to use for the door, cut it to size then use duct tape (yep-duct tape, call me a hilbilly:main_evilgrin:) as a "hinge". I think long strips on the inside and outside will hold and still let the door swing.
this is for one main door, im sure it would work with two but it may be harder getting them to match up.

is this really confusing? it works in my head but that usually means nothing to other people :main_huh:

LOL! You'd sure make my dad proud! Duct tape truly can do anything. But I was hoping that a gecko-genius had already done the leg work for me & would pass along their wisdom.
