Okay, so i had a bad run with some disease's in the pond and lost what i thought were my to female turtles turned out i was wrong and they were my males as males are typically smaller and have longer claws. I was given incorrect information by someone at a specific chain store and should have known better anyways. Well i have a small incubator but had bad luck with it last time and ended up getting mold. I found the egg probably an hour or so after it was laid. I was sure not to move it turn it over/change position as i have never dealt with turtle eggs and was not sure about the egg handling assumed it was similar to leo's. Anyways i have a 10 gallon tank that i wasn't using and put some vermiculite and planting soil in it. I then took some peat moss and lined the area around the egg to ensure it would not let the egg remain wet/water deposits on eggs but would provide enough moisture for it to remain in proper conditions... Anyways i live in Arizona and its already hitting 100 degrees Fahrenheit so i don't think i can just leave the tank outside. :(, i can move it inside and i have small heater pad i can put under the tank however there is no temp control so i wold need to constantly have a thermometer stuck in the soil. From what i have read anything over 88degrees Fahrenheit is too hot for the eggs.... I am not sure where to go from here i need to figure out which is the female so i can get her out of the pond and into an area with water that she can get in and out of water and into some soil to dig to try and lay the rest of her clutch............. I wanna post some pics to find out whos who so to speak. My question is what are of the area's of the turtle you need photos of to determine sex.? Lemme know i was unsure where to post this as well.:main_huh:

Everything seems good so far, but I would move the eggs inside. Also do not turn the eggs. Here are some pics to determine which is male and female.
First pic shows the tail of a male Red Eared Slider as you see it is longer. Second pic shows they have longer front nails as well.
Third pic shows that females have shorter tails. Fourth pic shows that females have short front nails too.
